Congratulations to Abigail Johnson on passing her apprenticeship with TalkPlus, gaining 2 distinctions and passing her final exam! She is now joining the Operations Team as Business Operations Assistant.
Abigail’s reflection:
“At the start of my apprenticeship journey, the process felt overwhelming. However, once I contacted colleges and received lists of workplaces accepting apprentices, things became much easier. Through this support, I was introduced to NHUC. After discussing my options with college staff, NHUC stood out to me because of their values and the meaningful work they do.
Throughout my time as an apprentice at NHUC, I have felt supported at every stage by both managers and colleagues. Everyone has been eager to help me progress, whether that meant guiding me through next steps or assisting with my study work. This support has helped me build confidence in both my role and my academic studies as I completed various types of training and interacted with different teams.
I gained far more than what was taught in the course itself. The experiences, opportunities, and responsibilities I encountered in my role have helped me grow significantly. Watching my responsibilities expand—from assisting the admin team to planning Togetherness Team training days and completing audits that I incorporated into my coursework—played a major part in helping me achieve a distinction.
NHUC has been an incredible place to complete my apprenticeship, providing a strong foundation that enabled me to succeed in achieving my qualification.”
